The towns Wernigerode and Halberstadt are situated in the very heart of Germany in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt at the foot of the Harz Mountains, the most northern mountain range in Germany. Both towns have impressively beautiful and amazing town centres with medieval half-timbered houses, old churches, and many other sights.
All major cities as Berlin, Frankfurt/Main or Hanover have excellent and frequent train connections from their airports to Wernigerode. The journey from Hannover to Wernigerode for instance takes about one and a half hour. For further information please visit www.bahn.de

Insurance
Health insurance
Please clarify questions concerning the coverage of your health insurance for your stay in Germany beforehand with your health insurance at home.
The insurance has to cover explicitly the return transport to your home country in case of emergency.
1. EU-citizens:
Please make sure that you have sufficient coverage by your health insurance of your home country (EU-insurance ID). Don't forget to bring it with you and please send a copy of it in advance.
2. Non-EU-citizens:
Please make sure to have sufficient coverage by your private health insurance. Don't forget to bring it with you and please send a copy of it in advance.
Personal liability insurance
Because of experiences we made in the past, we advise to have a personal liability insurance, which covers the costs in case you cause any personal or material damage.
