International Summer University

Review 2014

The topics Renewable Energies and Environment are becoming more and more important issues in today’s society and economy.

The overall objective of our Summer University (short: ISU) is to get a deeper insight into these topics by means of lectures, field trips, simulation games and other activities. These methods shall help you to get a better understanding for these sensitive subjects and to discuss advantages and drawbacks.

Besides the subject-related topics, we also want to emphasize the exchange with students from all over the world, making the ISU an unforgettable international experience. The International Summer University has been initialized as a common project of the Anhaltinische Akademie für Energie and Umwelt e.V.(AfEU) and the University for Technology and Economics in Budapest, Ungarn.

In 2014 for the very first time the Harz Univeristy of Applied Sciences co-operated with the Anhaltinischen Akademie für Energie und Umwelt (AfEU e.V.). Over 40 partcipants from over 9 countries took part. The ISU 2014 worked together with several well-known international partners such as the Ingenieurkammer Saxony-Anhalt (Engineering Chamber), the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest (BME), the Federal Environment Department of the city of Dessau-Roßlau as well as the city of Wernigerode – just to mention a few of them.
