This clothing exchange event has been taking place since 2014. It is planned and organized by a project group within the Business Psychology program. Discarded clothing is collected and made available for all exchange participants to take during the event. The event also provides information on the textile industry, tips for fair and sustainable consumption, and a relaxed atmosphere for socializing. In 2020 and 2021, as an alternative, there was an Instagram campaign, a promotional film, and online workshops focused on sustainability in the fashion industry.
Since the summer semester of 2018, students have been offering a two-part beekeeping workshop for university members. The theoretical part covers knowledge about bees, the structure of bee colonies and hives, as well as various characteristics and uses of honey. In the second part, participants have the opportunity to observe the work with our campus bees together with beekeeper Enrico Kretschmer and try their hand at honey extraction.
In cooperation with the Harz National Park, students explained the causes and effects of forest dieback. They described biodiversity and the newly gained habitats, which are not always immediately visible. Afterwards, participants, together with a ranger, visit the national park to observe the changes in the forest firsthand.

In 2021, the Business Psychology students offered the simulation game "Resource Nation" online for the first time. Participants were able to experience the consequences of their actions firsthand and reflect on the implications for everyone involved. Over the course of 2.5 hours, they made decisions regarding investments in renewable energies as well as purely financial aspects. In the end, the participant with the most money won, but from the perspective of the younger generations, this led to significant conflicts and discussions. Just like in real life!
In the winter semester of 2024/25, students from the Sustainable Management program conducted several interviews as part of our own EMAS-certified environmental audit, gaining firsthand experience of how an environmental management system operates. The increasing importance of sustainability aspects within corporate reporting was examined in a research project on sustainability reporting in the Master's program FACT - Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Taxation & Law (M.A.) during the winter semester of 2020/21. The outcome of the intensive research is a comprehensive collection of information, ranging from the fundamentals of sustainability to normative obligations (e.g., CSR-RUG), the most important frameworks for sustainability reporting (such as GRI), and current practical implementation examples.
