With its master's programme in Business Consulting, Harz University of Applied Sciences is closing a gap in the training of management consultants. Together with representatives from the field, we have developed a concept that is tailored to the needs of the growing consulting market. Our programme enables you to use consulting methods and tools in a targeted manner, provides you with in-depth business management knowledge and complementary knowledge of business psychology. You will also strengthen your Business English skills: the programme is taught in English.
Practical project: You acquire, you negotiate, you consult!
A key pillar of our teaching concept is the practical project: you will be fully immersed in consulting work while you are still studying. From the very first semester, you will learn about the day-to-day work of a business consultancy. Together with your fellow students, you will take responsibility for the acquisition, planning, implementation, and final presentation of a real consulting project. You will be supported by experienced mentors. You will also benefit from the many years of experience of consulting experts in the form of guest lectures and establish your first contacts in the field.
Confident and professionally skilled!
Our graduates are characterised by outstanding logical and analytical thinking skills, creativity and a willingness to learn, the ability to work in intercultural teams, and healthy self-confidence. These personal skills are the result of intensive teaching units in small, diverse study groups that focus on individual exercises and training. In addition, you will deepen your business expertise with the help of current, consulting-specific lecture content.
Studying in a diverse, international group is fun and has many advantages. By offering three options for the Master's degree programme in Business Consulting, we create the conditions for this. Which option is right for you?

Whether you want to work for one of the big strategy consultancies or in a small boutique firm, a master's degree in business consulting opens the doors to the national, European, and international consulting industry. Increasingly, large and medium-sized companies are also offering opportunities for our graduates, for example in in-house consulting or organisational services departments. The degree even paves the way for self-employment: former graduates of the programme have successfully founded their own consulting firms or established themselves as freelancers. To support you in this, we have introduced a so-called Startup Semester as an optional component of the programme.
The Master's in Business Consulting also opens up the prospect of a career in science and research, potentially leading to a doctorate.
