Fees for degree programmes and other study courses
In accordance with the charging statutes for degree programmes and other study courses (published in the Harz University of Applied Sciences’ official gazette), fees are charged per semester:
- € 500.00 for a second degree
Semester contributions
Wernigerode site:
- Student service fee ("Studentenwerksbeitrag")
- Semester ticket
- Student body contribution ("Studierendenschaftsbeitrag")

Halberstadt site:
- Student service fee ("Studentenwerksbeitrag")
- Semester ticket
- Student body contribution ("Studierendenschaftsbeitrag")

Continuing education degree programmes
- Students on continuing education degree programmes (section 16 HSG LSA) where the organisational structure only enables limited use of the services of the student services organisation will pay a reduced student service fee (the current contribution amounts can be found here).
- Semester ticket
- Student body contribution
- At the beginning of the re-registration period, the universities inform the student services organisation which degree programmes are affected. The student services organisation keeps a list of these.
- Students are required to pay the full contribution if they are also still registered as primarily attending a non-continuing-education degree programme at a university falling under the auspices of the Magdeburg student services organisation.
The semester ticket at Harz University of Applied Sciences:
The semester ticket is valid on all services recorded on the HVB GmbH route map that are served by HVG or HVB routes and can thus be boarded using the semester ticket.
These include:
- City buses in Halberstadt and Wernigerode (HVG and HVB),
- Trams in Halberstadt (HVG),
- Regional transport operated by Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe (HVB).
- Since 1 September 2012, the semester ticket has also been valid in towns such as Braunlage, Hettstedt and Bad Harzburg.
Train connections are not included.
