We need an electronic notification of your insurance status (M10) from your health insurance provider no later than when you enrol.
To obtain this, please contact your health insurance provider and give them the sender number H0000582 to enable the automatic exchange of data for student reporting.
Your health insurance provider will then send the required notification to Harz University of Applied Sciences.
Student health insurance applies from the semester’s official start day (1/03, 1/09). If you arrive before the beginning of the semester, if necessary you should obtain travel health insurance that is valid until the beginning of the semester.
All current/prospective students must therefore contact their health insurance provider and give them the sender number H0000582 to enable the automatic exchange of data for student reporting.
Please contact a statutory health insurance provider in Germany and present your blue EU health insurance card (EHIC) obtained from your home country, and give them the sender number H0000582 to enable the automatic exchange of data for student reporting.
Non-EU citizens must obtain health insurance from a German health insurance provider and give them the sender number H0000582 to enable the automatic exchange of data for student reporting.
Insurance obtained from your home country is often insufficient in the event of a claim, and therefore cannot be accepted. You will not be able to enrol without German health insurance.
Important! Before obtaining health insurance (whether statutory or private), you should always check whether its coverage meets your needs. Not all private health insurance is accepted by the immigration authorities for issuing a residence permit. Please therefore clarify this with the immigration authorities before obtaining insurance.
The university requires an electronic notification of a change of health insurance provider (M11) from your new health insurance provider. Please contact your provider to obtain this. Your health insurance provider will then send the required notification to Harz University of Applied Sciences. Please give them the sender number H0000582 to enable the automatic exchange of data for student reporting.
You will need to contact a statutory health insurance provider of your choice, who will then inform us that you have private insurance.
Please give them the sender number H0000582 to enable the automatic exchange of data for student reporting.
If you have any questions, please contact your administrator at the Admission and Registrar's Office.
