Open communication - Operating guidelines

  • We appoint individuals who serve as points of contact for various concerns.
  • Responsibilities are communicated clearly across the entire university.
  • Opportunities for exchange are promoted, e.g. between the Wernigerode and Halberstadt campuses, different degree programmes, different university areas, and all status groups.
  • Informal exchange is also supported by joint events, e.g. Campus Fever, team building events, Christmas parties, hiking days / university excursions.
  • We promote a culture of feedback, focusing on personal discussion in a respectful environment.
  • We ensure transparency in information flows and decision-making.
  • As well as committee work, there are various regular discussions and suitable digital services offering an ongoing exchange of information and independent information gathering.
  • Managers also take responsibility for the flow of information in their own team via regular conversations and development meetings.
  • Constructive handling of conflict includes appointing points of contact and providing training in conflict management.
  • Appropriate communication training is provided for all university members.
