It is a well-known issue that connecting to the Wi-Fi or eduroam doesn’t always work straight away.
Here are a few tips:
1. Make sure your password is correct.
It is updated at the start of each semester. Also check whether you have changed it yourself.
2. Setting up with geteduroam or eduroamCAT
If you’re sure that all your details are correct but you still can’t connect to the Wi-Fi, your device probably needs help finding the right certificates. You can use one of the solutions below:
a) the geteduroam app (easiest):
For: Common operating systems (Android, iOS/iPadOS/macOS, Windows, Linux)
Sometimes the device simply struggles a bit with configuring the eduroam network. In these cases, you can install the geteduroam app: www.geteduroam.app
Make sure you remove eduroam from your Wi-Fi settings beforehand or have it forgotten.
b) Or eduroamCAT:
For: Even more systems.
Alternatively, you can install eduroamCAT. Depending on your device, the process is slightly different and may be a little more complex. You can download eduroamCAT here: cat.eduroam.org
Make sure you remove eduroam from your Wi-Fi settings beforehand or have your device forget it.

Activate Office:
To reactivate the licence after a year, you simply need to go through the same process again.
Notes:
If you want to connect to university network from afar, so you can use specific services like the virtual pcs, you can establish a VPN connection via eduVPN.
You need:
After you established a connection one log-in session should remain active for 7 days. After that you will need to log in again to use the vpn service.
If you want to use your Smart TV you probably will not be able to connect it to eduroam (wifi). You can use a cable connection (ethernet) at your dorm instead.
Be aware that some services could still be prohibited by the dorms internet provider and firewall.
This process was tested on a Fire TV Stick with an Amazon Fire TV to ethernet adapter.
The university provides a free license for Microsoft365. (please log in to read more)
