Admission requirements

❓ Is my Bachelor's degree from abroad recognized for admission to the Master's programme?

✅ Your degree must be from a recognized university. You can check whether your institution and qualification are recognized using the anabin database, managed by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).

❓ What is the minimum grade required for admission?

✅ You need to have achieved at least a “Good” overall performance – this corresponds to a GPA of 2.5 or better on the German grading scale. Please note: This is a strict requirement – no exceptions can be made.

❓ How many ECTS credits do I need for admission?

✅ You need a minimum of 180 ECTS credits (or an equivalent workload) to be eligible for the Regular Track. The Fast Track is an accelerated version of the programme and requires 210 ECTS credits from your previous degree.

❓ Is my academic background relevant for the Master's programme I want to apply for?

✅ Your degree should be in a field related to industrial engineering, business informatics, technical management, or another engineering subject. Degrees without any technical background unfortunately do not qualify for admission.

❓ Do I need to submit my school certificate even if I already have a Bachelor's degree?

✅ Yes, in most cases you must still provide your school leaving certificate (HZB), even if you already hold a university degree.

❓ Is my school leaving certificate sufficient to be accepted for university studies in Germany?

✅ Yes, if it enabled you to start a Bachelor's degree in your home country, it's usually accepted. You may need to provide official translations and equivalency checks.

❓ What level of English proficiency is required?

✅ For the English-language programme option "Technology and Innovation Management", sufficient knowledge of the English language must be demonstrated to the Admission Board to least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages with results in the upper point range.

One of the following English language certificates has to be submitted with your application documents:

❓ Can I be exempt from providing a certificate if my previous degree was taught in English?

✅ Yes, a proof of English language proficiency is not required if you have successfully completed an English-language Bachelor's programme. Verification of this must be provided (e.g. confirmation from the university).

❓ How is the admission decision made?

✅ The admission board evaluates your application based on three main criteria:

  • Academic performance
  • Language proficiency
  • Professional experience

❓ Is this a competitive programme?

✅ Yes, the programme has restricted admissions, which means only a limited number of places are available and not all qualified applicants can be admitted.
