My research focuses on the management of public and nonprofit organizations in a dynamic environment. These dynamics arise, for example, from crises and disasters, as well as social and technological change. Currently I'm working on a research project on public administrations and change in times of Covid-19, focusing on topics like performance management, digitalization, and agile governance.
As part of my scholarly work, I also serve as a reviewer for several journals, including Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Nonprofit Management & Leadership, Public Administration Review, Public Management Review, Voluntas, and Disasters. I am a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of International Journal of Public Sector Management and an associate editor for the Academy of Management Meeting. I am a member of AWPA - academic women in public administration - and strive for more diversity in academia.
